How to Make your Own QR Cards

The Mullet of Business Cards:
Vintage in the front, Tech in the back
(or, how to make your own QR Business Cards online!)

Most business card companies have an option to "upload your own design" which makes it fun and simple to design your business card to look exactly the way you want it.

First, design the logo you want on the front of your QR card. If you need help, contact me!
Second, find your unique QR code on the world wide web! Here is a site I recommend for generating free QR codes. It's simple and nifty. http://createqrcode.appspot.com/
Once you are there, figure out where you want to send your client when they scan this QR code.
Do you want them to be directed to your website? A great YouTube video you just shot? A blog post that is so darn appealing you have to share it? I chose my website, it does all of that ! Then type in the address of your choice, i.e. http://www.laurapruittdesign.info and it will magically generate you this amazing looking thing:

Cool, kinda daunting technology wise, and who wants to be reduced to a bar code? Let's face it: it looks cool , the app is fun on the smart phone, and it is really quite advanced for everyday people like you and me.
Save this file as a .jpg and import into your picture file as QR code for (whatever it is you are linking to.) Soon you will find this file full of useful QR codes in no time, so you might as well make a folder for it.

I used zazzle.com/temperence* to make my card, using some of their funkalicous fonts on the backside to offset the starkness of the QR code.

Editor's Note:
I used the paper "gold" in the premium section to increase the vintage feel of this card. It is just the right amount of "understated bling" that makes this card different and appealing visually, as well as texturally. It really is very cool. The "Vintage Parchment" business card that has been in my store is printed on this gleaming paper and is my top seller so far this year!

I also picked a unique size. There are three sizes available in this particular store, (skinny, business, chubby) so I went with the chubby size, which was again, slightly different. This really makes the card stand out when you hand it to your client. The "skinny" business cards are cool too, if your into being green and not using up a big space to say a small thing.
